Yes, this is a scary one , if this is you.. !!!! BOLD LAW for Tuesday is... " Don't mistake movement for achievement "
How many times in a day do you see someone you know and say " How are you ?, How ya doin' ? , What's new or what's up ?...and, the answer you get back is " I'm busy , busy , busy ! "....the next question should be , " Yeah , doing what " ?
If their answer is filled with lots of stuff that is their 80% that doesn't lead them to a result that pays them , then it's just movement disguised as achievement. It's the " busy-ness "of real estate. That is the SCARY part ! If that is you , stop it immediately because it's not the BUSINESS of real estate. If you allow yourself to let the business run you, you will never be a top producer because you allow your day to be consumed by all that movement, the 80% of the stuff that can be done in the off hours or delegated or delayed.
If the answer is one of these five following activities, ....lead generating , following up on leads , going on appointments , negotiating contracts or script practice ,.... then that person is achieving , not just moving. Chances are, someone who is doing those five activities is not going to be in a position to be interrupted by you , and if they are, it won't be for long.
Those are the 20% income producing activities that 90 - 95 % of real estate agents are not willing to commit to , yet they have the biggest payoff in the short term and the long term ! It's not pretty sometimes, and it's not easy a lot of times , but it is simple. You make the decision to either run your business or let it run you...
Movement or achievement , it's your choice...
