Wednesday's BOLD LAW
Stay in control of your emotions...

It IS exciting to set a nice appointment, or make a sale, or get the news that a sale has closed! That's high for this business! You should have some level of excitement and that's okay.

You probably have all seen an agent get excited and celebrate and spend the rest of the day walking around the Market Center telling everyone they can about that success. The celebration is so excessive that if they were in the NFL, a referee would throw the flag and penalize them for " Excessive Celebrating"!

That is exhausting, the celebration uses up a lot of your gas in your tank, and is not productive. The best time to get on the phone is right after something great has happened. I'm not saying to not express emotion. Do a little "Touchdown Dance", give some "High Fives" and take a few minutes to congratulate yourself and then....get back on the phone.

Your energy, excitement, and confidence are all up and that comes through on the phone and you are setting yourself up to have another successful result...but only if you get back on the phone! (And yes, we have all been guilty of this before once or twice in our careers).

Keeping your emotions between the lines is more efficient and will also give you better energy and gas mileage to stay on your productive tasks. Just like in your car, a steady consistent foot pressure on the gas pedal and light braking are more efficient than squealing your tires to leave marks and speeding off at a green light and then jamming on the brakes right before a red light. That's hard and expensive on your car!

Having excessive emotions outside the lines for any length of time is exhausting as well. Stay in control as best you can and you'll receive better long-term results and have something left at the end of the day for your family and loved ones.
