Wednesday's BOLD LAW "If it's not in your schedule, it does not exist" or, "The Curse of the Independent Contractor"

We typically get into real estate because we want to be our own boss. Ever heard these?

1. "I want to do what I want to do when I want to do it"

2. " Nobody's going to tell me what to do anymore"

3. "I want to work a flexible schedule"

4. "I no longer want a cap on my income"

Those are just a few reasons why anyone goes into business, any business, for themselves. Most of them are myths if you don't have the discipline to create and follow a schedule. That's the curse of being an independent contractor or of being your own boss.

1. If you don't have a schedule, you end up doing what you want when you want and you wind up not doing the right activities at the right time.

2. If you're not strong enough to tell YOU what to do, that kind of stubbornness may lead you to just wing it, and look at # 3.

3. You'll have a flexible schedule alright , but not a productive one ! And, you'll end up working 7 days a week at all hours because you're running from task to task because you don't  have a schedule!

4. Your income WILL be capped and inconsistent because you're not productive in the income generating activities that must be scheduled to be done every day. All because you won't have a schedule?

It doesn't have to be perfect. It does not have to be rigid. A schedule does need to be planned out in advance and followed 80% of the time. Just start one now because....

If it's not in your schedule, it doesn't exist!
