Tuesday's BOLD LAW "Keep your emotions between the lines"...not too high and not too low.
Stay in control of your emotions...
This does not mean you have to be a robot and never show emotions. Experiencing emotions is part of life...excitement, enthusiasm, sadness, smiling , crying and laughing are just a few...we are after all, human beings. The trick is to not let them get the better of us and that's hard to do sometimes.
For instance, sometimes, it's to our advantage to stay focused and not let anger make you say something or do something you're going to regret later. Our prisons are full of people who let anger take over and they crossed a line. In business , we probably should be pretty serious at certain times and remain professional in a situation when someone is upsetting us. That happened to me in business yesterday. I think I remained calm and handled it appropriately.
In a sporting competition, sometimes it's fun to not let an opponent see that you are nervous, intimidated or scared and that they can't rattle you with their tactics. It drives them crazy when they realize they cannot get to you!
Families can easily upset each other when emotions are outside the lines. I upset my daughter last night with something I said after I let something she said get to me. I could have and should have handled it better but, I didn't because I let my emotion take control. I forgot about this BOLD LAW and slipped. Apologies were made but not my best Dad moment.
Stay in the moment. Think before you speak. Our moms always said, "count to te " and they were right. Neither too high nor too low with our emotions. Remain on the even keel.....there are thousands of sayings out there to remind us of this...pick one that resonates with you and remember it when you need it most.
Hope this helps!
