This week's BOLD LAW ... "How you participate here is how you show up everywhere" ... How do you show up for others?
Do you show up the same as everyone else? If you're happy and friendly and a source of inspiration and a leader for others at work, are you the same at home with your family all the time? I admit, sometimes I'm not. I slip or let my guard down and I should not. Saying that you're tired is not an excuse to let down the ones you care about most. Being vulnerable with this and admitting we are not perfect is a way to grow and improve.
Yes, things can go wrong at home. The dog poops on the carpet, you're running late, you spill your coffee, and then out in the garage, you have a flat tire...You don't take that attitude to work or display it in front of your clients, right? You must leave all that behind or it's going to have a negative effect on your results...not good.
The reverse should also be true. A transaction falls apart, an appointment cancels, or you just have a rough day. You have to leave that behind before you walk in the front door of your home. You can't be short with them or kick the dog...it's not their fault a sale fell apart! Again, not good!
Consistency is the key. Your character and what you bring into every room are important. Sometimes that is hard. We are all human and make mistakes. If that happens, apologize and resolve to be aware of it so you can work on being that same person they deserve you to be EVERYWHERE!
Because....how you participate here is how you show up everywhere...
