See what Shakspeare has to say about Friday's BOLD LAW of

Friday's BOLD LAW is authored by George Gillas , who is a long time friend and past client of mine. He is also a Keller Williams Transformational Coach and, a master of NLP, Neuro Linguistic Programming. George looks at the BOLD LAWS that I write from Monday-Thursday and interprets them for you as someone who has never been a Realtor and always been a coach. Here is his take on this week's BOLD LAWS with help from William Shakespeare ! - Don

On Monday this week, Don quoted a former coach/mentor of his, Tim Wood who said, " In losing, and you will, don't lose the lesson!  Because you already paid for it in advance!"

And on Tuesday he wrote about “when things go bad” – and we all know, that will happen too.

I’d like to take a moment and share an approach that helps mitigate the emotions when either or both of these events happen to you. And the secret is all in the questions you ask yourself.

Most people, when things go bad, as questions that are focused on the past and based in the problem:

Why does this always happen to me?

What did I do to deserve this?

How come this doesn’t happen to anyone else?

Blah, blah, blah…

The suggestion here is this; since it is natural to question, why not ask questions that are future based and resource oriented?

What can I learn from this so I can handle it better next time?

What’s the lesson here that, when I get it, will help me avoid this in the future?

How would I handle this next time knowing what I know now?

When I step back for a moment now, what can I see that I missed before – and how can I use that to move forward now?

The content of the questions is less important than the context. The context being: future based and resource oriented. If you are going to ask yourself something, wouldn’t you prefer to reflect on something positive and gain forward movement, rather than being stuck in the problem?

By the way… you probably won’t get a clear answer most of the time. The point of these questions is to not wait for an answer but to get your mind on a different track. The objective is to 1st: Get moving forward and thinking of the future and 2nd: Give you subconscious mind something positive to work on.

Try it. It’s a much nicer way to talk to yourself. There’s no ‘downside’ to that, is there?

“Why, then, 'tis none to you, for there is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so. To me it is a prison. Well, then it isn't one to you, since nothing is really good or bad in itself—it's all what a person thinks about it.” ~Shakespeare – Hamlet
