New week's BOLD LAW…" Logic makes you think, Emotions make you act "...Sometimes in the moment, emotions used properly can be life-saving!
Think about the power of logic versus emotion.
We've all heard about the story where a frail "little old lady" is able to lift up a car to free a trapped child? Where did she summon up the physical strength to do that? Logically, if she sat down to think about it, she would never have been able to physically do that? As Dr. Spock would say in Star Trek, "Captain, there is no logic in that" ... and he would have been right! Logic, reasoning, pros versus cons ... her brain would have talked her out of it and the child would have been badly hurt.
Emotionally though, she saw a small child in trouble and her mothering instincts took over. Her emotion raged, the adrenaline kicked in for the few seconds she needed it and for those few precious seconds, she had the strength of Wonder Woman!!!
Emotion does cause us to act. I'm sure you have had a frightening situation where you reacted quickly in a positive way and later said, "How did I do that?" ... It was not logic, it was emotion.
Emotion is a very powerful resource that we all have to use at times. Make sure you use it correctly.
