Friday's BOLD LAW

If it’s not on your schedule it doesn’t exist… or, at least it will never happen.

 

It can “exist” on your schedule and in your mind but if you don’t ACT on it, the results will never happen.


There’s really two parts to this BOLD Law. One: If you plan to do something – get it on your schedule and block the time needed to accomplish the task. Two: Execute. In other words, follow the companion BOLD Law: It’s not about selling real estate, it’s about following a schedule.


Putting your task down on paper or in your e-calendar is only half of what it takes. It’s only potential if it’s written down. You can plan your lead gen time… but if you never take the actions necessary to generate business, what value does “Lead Gen” have written on your calendar?


What is important to you about placing things in your schedule? Are the activities you have blocked things that will move your business forward – or are they space fillers to fool you into thinking you are busy?

Lead gen seems to be the thing that hangs up most agents… they find things to distract them: emails, texts, phone calls, Facebook, etc.


What is the purpose of lead generation? Dig deep on this question. Go deeper than “to earn money.” Each time you answer the question – ask yourself again, “for what purpose?” Do this until you feel the genuine purpose of lead gen – keep asking yourself until you get an emotion behind the answer.

It may go something like this: Why am I doing lead gen from __ to ___ this morning?

To generate listings – for what purpose?

To have better time management - for what purpose?

To earn more income in less time - for what purpose?

So I can protect my family and give them security (if that doesn’t do it – go again) - for what purpose?

So I can attend my kids’ school events and be the parent I committed to being

 

Wherever this repeated question takes you – go there. And keep going until you feel the emotion (Logic makes you think – emotion makes you act, remember?).


Once you have the emotion, ask yourself this: “If I truly believe that I live my life in integrity – is there anything that will get in the way of me taking care of my family and being there for my kids?”


Now you have your integrity and your values aligned to drive your lead gen time. When your calendar becomes a reflection of your values, execution is non-negotiable! Pick up the phone and start!
