Friday's BOLD LAW from KW MAPS NLP Coach George Gillas....
Don’t compare your insides to other people’s outsides
Client conversation #1. The main idea she presented was how she just got three listings and then saw someone else on Facebook saying they got 6. “How can that be?... Is she better than me? … What am I doing wrong? … What do I need to do more of?”
Slow down, client… let’s focus on what we know.
What was your goal for Jan and Feb? Answer: “To cap.” And did you do it? Ans: “Yes”
So what does that mean to you? Ans: “I now get 100% of the three listings – and everything else.”
Have you ever capped within the first two months of reset before? Ans: “No. And it feels really good.”
Do you know if this other person has capped… do you know her volume – her profit margins – her splits? Do you know if she did this on her own or had a team? Do you know anything besides 6 listings? Ans: “No…”
What’s more important to you and your family, exceeding your profitability from last year and having more time with them or beating a stranger who reports more listings on social media? Ans: … it’s obvious at this point…
Isn’t it true that the only competition that matters is competing with yourself? Only you know the full picture of your life.
Culturally, the best example (and worst at the same time) is to look at Facebook and other social media. How many people work hard to present an image of themselves that is not at all true? How many people fall into the misguided trap that they have to look better than everyone else - and strive to achieve this on social media?
Kanye and Kim Kardashian seemed to have it all, didn’t they? And now, like so many others – divorce. Celebrities put out a façade that weak people fall victim to emulate.
You are stronger than that. You know that when you put your head on the pillow at night… and you did better today than you did yesterday; you sleep well. Even if that improvement was just 1%, like Don wrote about.
Forget what others say. Or what they post. Or what they look like. All that matters is your endless pursuit of self-improvement- in whatever “Circle of Life” you may choose.
What do you want? Where are you now? What is the gap? What can get in your way? What options do you have?
And what will you do today to move in that direction? Everything else is fluff…
