Friday's BOLD LAW ... An observation from KW MAPS NLP Coach George Gillas...

Success is simple, not easy and can be both simpler and easier when you play to your strengths.

Modeling someone who is succeeding at something you want to do is a great way to develop new patterns and habits. And, if you’re reading this, chances are good you’ve done this – to some degree. What if you discovered that modeling someone else feels like it is “going against your grain?” And it seems like it is something more than going outside your comfort zone?

You could be experiencing stress that comes from conflict between how you are naturally wired to take action and how you believe (or see) the job should be done. This is called a conative strain – when your perception of a job does not match your natural strengths.

There is another aspect of your mind which is unchanging and ‘hardwired’ into you. It is called the conative mind. Conation is known for centuries as one of three parts of the mind (affective,  cognitive, and conative) and is action that you take derived from instinct. Instinct in this case being how you naturally utilize your time and energy when you are striving to take action or solve a problem. We can quantify and measure this through an index called the Kolbe A™ Index.

As a MAPS Transformational coach, I see potential conflicts often when my client seems to be working too hard to achieve results – and is miserable, tired, and frustrated. I have a client in CA who (used to) see the job of being a Realtor as very different from how he naturally does things. We’re not talking about personality, intelligence, KPA, DISC, etc. The conative mind is a different part of mind that dictates how you do things when given the freedom to be yourself.

The great thing about being in real estate is that we can tweak how a solo agent does the work to fit the way they are wired. So we did. He is currently pacing nearly $250,000 over last year in GCI, with a higher average commission than he projected, with more time for his family and less stress with his clients. All because he is playing to his strengths.

If you don’t know for sure what your strengths are, how can you decisively maximize them?

Success is simpler and easier when we can be in the flow more of the time. If you’d like to learn more about the concept of conation and how to apply it to your life for more success with greater consistency – take a look at https://georgegillas.com/do-more-more-naturally/ or email me with questions.

We are all here for success – however you define that for yourself. If this is one more tool to help you, let’s talk about it.
