Don't be scared by Friday the 13th ! BOLD LAW....

What are you doing to grow? Does “your business grows to the extent that you do” mean that you have to grow in the sense of business acumen for your business to increase?


Or, does it mean that as you grow and develop as a person, your business will grow as well?

If all you do is feed your mind with business books, podcasts, videos, classes, etc.; you will acquire a ton of information and potentially be proficient… but might you become a bit boring?


In addition to business growth - What hobbies can you acquire? What outside interests can you develop? What will you do for fun? What else can you talk about or activity can you engage in that feeds your soul – and not just your bank account?


Do you remember the Seven Circles from The One Thing? Consider for a moment that, as you expand in one area of life you expand the possibilities in other areas as well. If you are feeling lazy and have gained some weight as a result of the last 18 months, what happens to your energy as you start back into an exercise program? And with greater energy – does your mood improve? Do you have greater capacity and focus in your business? Are you a better husband, wife, friend, father, mother, etc. because your stress is being better managed?


Growth in one area affects growth in all others… so pick one to start!

Here’s another thought about reading… We know, as sales professionals, that “facts tell and stories sell”. I trust you’ve heard that before. If all you read are business books, you are loading up on facts. Have you ever gotten lost in a great novel? Have you ever been so involved in the story that you could imagine the character’s, what they looked like, how they sound, and the environment where they are?


Great writers paint vivid pictures with their written words. Would it be out of bounds to suggest that reading an occasional novel for fun will help you create colorful, vivid language so your skill at storytelling (selling) increases?


Feed your mind with things other than Netflix… At 45 minutes (approx.) per episode and 16 episodes in a season and 5 seasons… you just spent 60 hours spacing out. TV to unwind and “veg out” is good for you on occasion. And once in a while, you could take a “Master Class” (Google it) and learn something new… while being entertained at the same time.


Remember too – Mega Camp is August 23-26. Get registered and you’ll have access to all the recordings. This way you can attend more classes at your leisure… how convenient is that?


We all have 168 hours in a week… decide today to take some of that time and invest in yourself to grow.


And if committing to growth frightens you a little bit, that’s perfect because if you aren’t a little bit scared, you probably are not investing enough… Happy Friday the 13th!
