A bedroom community within the Municipality of Anchorage and 20 miles from the city itself, Chugiak is also conveniently located near Eagle River to its south. Recent population growths in Chugiak have pushed the number of residents, who mostly live along the Glenn Highway and work in Anchorage, to nearly 8,000.
